Nautilus International is looking for members to nominate for the International Maritime Organization (IMO) award for Exceptional Bravery at Sea.
The annual award was set up by the IMO to celebrate those who display exceptional courage while attempting to save lives at sea, or while trying to prevent or mitigate damage to the marine environment. It recognises both acts that involve extraordinary skills in very difficult conditions, and any other display of outstanding bravery.
The act of bravery recognized in the 2021 awards must have occurred in the period from 1 March 2020 to 28 February 2021.
To suggest a Nautilus member or group of members for nomination, please get in touch with the Union's international organiser Danny McGowan by 31 March.
Nominations will be made via the International Transport Workers' Federation, which is a non-governmental organisation with consultative status.
