On Thursday 25 July, Nautilus International’s head of Industrial Micky Smyth visited the CalMac ferry MV Isle of Arran to meet members onboard.
‘It was a positive visit to the vessel,’ Mr Smyth said. ‘We covered several topics, notably the forthcoming pay talks, which are due to take place in Gourock on 25-26 September 2024, and other concerns and areas of interest to our members, including officer crewing levels and excessive callback.
‘We also talked about the Clyde and Hebrides Ferry Service (CHFS) Contract, where Nautilus is working with our partners to achieve a direct award to CalMac after the 12-month contract extension runs out at the end of September 2025.’
