Nautilus yacht crew members planning on attending the seventh Palma Superyacht Show, from 27 to 30 April 2019 are urged to drop in on Nautilus representatives who will be on hand to answer questions on sea service verification and work-related issues.
Nautilus international organiser Danny McGowan will host the Union's session at professional development company ACREW's Official Show Lounge area. All attendees will also be able to participate in the full range of workshops and professional development sessions held by ACREW.
Members, and crew considering joining the Union or who also want to attend workshops at the crew lounge were able to attend — for a free show pass in advance — by Thursday 18 April. Otherwise registration could be done on the door.
Nautilus international organiser Danny McGowan explained the presence of the Union at the yacht show: 'As the only trade union and professional association representing members globally in the superyacht industry, it is an essential part of our work to be at industry events such as this throughout the year.
It provides us with the opportunity to meet with new and existing strategic partners, but more importantly we are able to meet members – and those yet to join us – to tell them about our unique package of benefits and services, including our Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA)-recognised sea service verification process.’
Mr McGowan said the Union will also be able to issue Service Record Books for sea service verification with the MCA, to new joiners at the show: 'If you know of anyone who has not yet joined Nautilus, but still requires our sea service verification procedure, please direct them to visit us. We will also be able to answer questions about how Nautilus can assist members with issues faced at work, and all attendees will be able to participate in the full range of workshops and professional development sessions provided by ACREW.'
