Themes to be debated during the week by a mix of high level shipping decision-makers and industry representatives, are that 'digitisation and modernisation are indispensable' for the future of the maritime sector.
Nautilus general secretary Mark Dickinson, is one of 36 industry speakers from across Europe presenting at the 2017 conference being held in Brussels from Monday 27 February to Friday 3 March 2017.
He will join a panel debating global trends affecting shipping on Wednesday 1 March.
Key trends in the digitalisation of maritime transport, as well as the safety and environmental aspects of cyber systems in shipping will be addressed on Tuesday 28 February. Maritime careers will also be in the spotlight that day with a seminar on employment, labour rights and training in shipping.
European Shipping Week is the brainchild of the European Community Shipowners’ Associations (ECSA) and the inaugural event in 2015 was run by a Steering Group made up of Europe’s main shipping organisations as well as the European Commission and Shipping Innovation.
