Jobs seminar and CV surgery offered during London International Shipping Week

Nautilus Shore Enough? seminar taking place during LISW.

Do you read reports predicting a global shortage of seafarers, and wonder where these maritime jobs are likely to be in the UK?  Then you should attend the Nautilus careers and skills hub seminar in September.

As part of London International Shipping Week (LISW), Nautilus is teaming up with the Merchant Navy Training Board and the UK Chamber of Shipping to answer one of members’ most frequently asked questions — ‘So where are the jobs?’

This free seminar takes place on Tuesday 12 September at the Chamber of Shipping as part of the joint Careers and Skills Hub event. Members will also be able to watch the event live on the Union’s Facebook page, and submit questions for the panel in advance by emailing [email protected] or on the day via the Union’s Facebook page and Twitter feed.

The 'So where are the jobs?' panel debate will include a Nautilus member for the seafarer perspective, a government representative who will outline ambitions for the sector, as well as representatives from management and recruitment consultancies, and shipping companies

As part of the careers and skills hub, Nautilus will also be holding an online CV surgery and careers advice session. If you would like to submit your CV for feedback from the Nautilus professional and technical department, or have a question about seeking employment or career progression, you can email it in advance to [email protected] or follow the discussion on the day from 14.30 via the Union’s social media pages.

Nautilus has also produce a hand video guide to its events during LISW.
