Nautilus lay representatives are Union members who volunteer in their workplace or company as liaison officers (UK), Partnership at Work delegates (UK) or senior executives (NL).
In the UK branch, some of these positions are elected and others are taken up by members who have volunteered to fill a vacancy. The Dutch branch's senior executives have a less formal role but carry out many of the same functions as their UK counterparts.
Lay reps provide a vital role in company negotiations; some can provide advice to members on their basic employment rights, and all help to strengthen the Union by recruiting colleagues.
Lay representatives receive training from Nautilus on how to support their colleagues in the workplace, and work closely with the Industrial Organising department.
If you are a Nautilus lay representative, please log in to the Members area for additional information and materials to help you in your role.
