Nautilus forums

Nautilus International encourages its members to participate in its governance and policy-making process by attending Union forums. These groups welcome members on an informal ‘call ahead and come along’ basis – but the discussions they hold and the work they do are taken very seriously by the Union.

Each forum is led by a chair and vice-chair elected by their fellow members. The forums are administered by the Nautilus secretariat, and a Union official will attend meetings to take notes on each forum’s discussions and decisions. The minutes are then presented to the next meeting of Nautilus Council. A Council member or members will normally attend at least some of each forum’s meetings.

As well as giving the Council feedback on important issues, the Nautilus forums offer valuable opportunities for members’ own professional development, through sharing expertise and networking. In addition, the forums often invite a guest speaker to inspire and guide members on a particular topic they are tackling.

Details of each forum and its objectives are given below. Nautilus members can read forum minutes and find out more about how to get involved by logging into the Members’ area.
